Hi, I'm Vijendra Kumar — online you'll usually find me as Vijevira. I'm a Senior Software Engineer based in Bangalore, India, and this is the fuller story behind the projects and resume on this site.

Where I started

I grew up in Bihar and later moved to Bangalore, where I live and work today. I studied Computer Science and Engineering at the University Institute of Technology, The University of Burdwan, graduating with an 8.38 CGPA. Before that, I scored 84.2% in 12th grade at Delhi Public School, Varanasi, and a 9.8 CGPA in 10th grade at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

My work journey

My career began at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (Oct 2021 – Aug 2022), where I worked on frontend development — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, and Java — building reusable UI components and input validation systems for enterprise-scale web applications.

I then joined Pratishthan Software Ventures (Sep 2022 – Aug 2024), engineering mission-critical payment infrastructure for banks: SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), QCBIP (Qatar Central Bank Instant Payments), UAERT (UAE Real-Time Transfers), and SWIFT messaging flows. I built real-time payment flows, return/reject cycles, and SLA tracking mechanisms to meet strict regulatory standards, enhanced systems integrated with NACH and NPCI, and worked across the stack — securing API integrations, handling Kafka-based event streams, and ensuring compliance with ISO 20022.

Today I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Apsona, where my work centers on backend engineering, Salesforce automation, and system architecture. I built apsona_nexus_svc, a secure Node.js service that provides REST APIs to interact with HashiCorp Vault for credential management, led the org-wide clear cache system, designed the Merge button for Salesforce Lightning List View, built PDF storage uploads to client orgs, and helped split a legacy monorepo into scoped services like PDF SVC and SFDC SVC. Along the way I upgraded services from Node.js v8 to v18 and automated Excel merge operations via schedulers. Alongside my full-time roles, I've also taken on freelance work as an AI Prompt Engineer at Alignerr and an AI Trainer at Outlier, exploring applied AI/ML through prompt refinement and model training on real-world data.

How I work

I care more about clean, thoughtful engineering than quick hacks — writing code that's easy for the next person (often future me) to reason about, testing it properly, and documenting decisions so they don't get lost. I like working with people who are equally curious, and I'm always looking for the next thing worth learning, whether that's a new part of the stack or an unfamiliar problem space like applied AI.

Outside of work

When I'm not writing code, I'm usually solving puzzles or playing chess — though most of that same energy ends up going into personal projects. I like building real-time multiplayer games on Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects, complete with bot AI so they're playable solo: Cabo (2–15 players), Cuff the Bluff (a Liar's Dice game for up to 15 players), Splendor (a digital take on the board game for 2–12 players), and Chhakkadi (a platform for three Indian card games — Chhakkadi, Dehla Pakad, and Call Break — now with an Android app you can download directly from the site).

I've also built a couple of full SaaS products end-to-end: Zyvora, a Jira-like project management platform with Kanban boards and real-time collaboration, and WatchTower, a platform that monitors websites, RSS feeds, and APIs and pushes notifications to Discord, Slack, and Telegram — plus smaller tools like a Notes App. You can browse all of them on the projects page.
